Vineyards may be hard to come by in Central Oregon, but there is no shortage of wineries, especially in Bend. And who doesn’t enjoy a glass of carefully selected wine when on vacation or spending time with friends?
Here you will find quite a variety of wine tasting experiences, from the laid-back, friendly atmosphere of Naked Winery to the wide selection of over 600 labels at The Wine Shop and Beer Tasting Bar.
Some of the winery owners have even managed to grow their vines through painstaking trial and error, overcoming the drastic temperature fluctuations that are common in the high desert area.

Nestled between Smith Rock and the seven peaks of the Cascades, Maragas Winery in Culver, Oregon has been making great wine since 1999.
They are able to maintain a microclimate for their vines that is suitable for several European grape varieties as well as French American hybrids. The volcanic soil is also ideal for water drainage, allowing the vines to grow and thrive.
They have fun events throughout the year, including their annual Halloween party. You can also reserve the vineyard for your wedding or special event, taste their wines in-house or even enjoy a bit of the winemaking process.
